As Al Jazeera English pushes for a presence on North American cable, when applying to the CRTC (Canadian Radio-television Telecommunications Commission) for access to Canadian cable companies, the IB has said it would open a news bureau in Canada. This would be "the first, and only, international news channel to have a bureau in Canada. Not only would this bring increased coverage to Canada, but would also bring Canadian news to an international audience."
By making their 70th bureau in Canada, Al Jazeera can continue to brag about its commitment to extend the borders of world wide news coverage.
